We hope you and your child will enjoy our monthly book recommendations. Each month we will share theme based age-appropriate book recommendations (that are available at Goodall Library and/or Springvale Public Library) and activities to support language development.

"Each Orange Had 8 Slices"

Language Activity: There are so many words to describe an orange!
Share an orange with your child. Ask your child to describe the orange. How does it feel? What does it smell like? What shape is the orange? Peel the orange and seperate the slices. Now ask your child the same questions you asked before you peeled the orange.
Don't forget to encourage your child to count the orange slices before he/ she eats it! Did it have 8 slices?
